Rant on INVISIBLE SELFIE CAMERAS ... and What They SHOULD BE Focusing on instead!

Anyone else pissed at the fact that mega corporations have been spending their time, money and human resource on this superficial tech for the past 5+ years ??? . Jesus Christ!! All this JUST SO THAT WE CAN TAKE A SELFIE. ?? Stop telling us that 'this is advancement in mobile technology'. Who asked for this? Who???? You are just creating artificial Needs and Wants ! You are shoving this down our throats. Even for a die hard selfie addict this tech will NOT change their experience. Next year, smartphones companies will have this on their flagship, and demand a frigging premium price for it while ignoring stuffs which THEY SHOULD BE FOCUSING ON.

Here are so areas i wish phone companies spent their time and resources on. Now dont tell me these are 'difficult and too challenging' . Tech companies can do the unimaginable if they are motivated enough. So, the stuffs i would like them to focus on are

  1. Display tech that does not strain the eyes. Yes, please think about our health. How about an anti glare anti UV or what not eye protection tech. Changing the color temp to warm only helps us to a limited extent. Add another layer within LCD Display which will have that digital ink thingie. When we wanna simply read stuffs, it will be like a Amazon Kindle. When we wanna watch videos and play games, we switch back to color display. We have OLED technology, how about me merge these two. Both these tech revolves around switching ON -OFF its pixels. Shouldn't be tough.
  2. Battery life. I get it, thermodynamics and shit is a hindrance, but there are tested and proven successful technologies like Solid State Lithium Ion, Gold Nano-Wire, Zinc-Air.... and many more which i read about like 10+ years ago, in some tech magazine (yea, back when tech magazines was a thing). We all know that if companies pull these techs out of the universities and bring it to their labs and work on it, they can make these techs a reality for mass market consumption.
  3. Use Periscope Lens for Selfie camera. This tech first appeared in Huawei P20, and now Oppo has adopted it. They use it for zoom function, but how about we use it to divert the light from the front camera lens, and into the rear sensor. They selfie camera would be just a light receiver. The real VIEWING and Processing of light will be done by the main rear camera . We can have a hardware toggle or software based toggle.
  4. Use the rear panel of the phone as a Heat dissipater. This idea comes from the flat area in a computer processor, where we put thermal paste and attach a cooler. We cant have fans in phones, so just let the back panel of the phone act as something that can release the heat. Imagine this scenario---, we have two CPUs, neither have a CPU Cooler attached. On CPU #1, we put a plastic/glass sheet on top . On CPU #2 we leave it open. Both will run hot, but CPU#1 will get hotter. This CPU#1 is what happens to our mobile phone SoC. Instead of confining it, how about we let its heat dissipation area be EXPOSED through the rear? OK i may be wrong in the physics sense, but its just my layman idea.
  5. BRING BEZELS BACK! Yeah, i said it. We need convenience and functionality. We need to be able to use our phones with the least finger gymnastics. Who here enjoys using those curved displays on smartphones?? You have to be carefull how you hold the phone. WHY!!!! WHY DID WE MAKE THINGS HARDER FOR OURSELVES???If we bring bezels back, we can stop companies from wasting time on stupid technologies like IN-DISPLAY FINGER PRINT SCANNERS and NOTCH/PUNCH HOLE DISPLAYS and other techs which has ACTUALLY MADE OUR LIFE WORSE. Yes, you all may not see it, but our mobile phone experience has been degrading for the past few years. We are no longer able to do things we could do before, we need to realize that, we are brainwashed to believe that life is improved, when its not. INCONVENIENCE should never be called INNOVATION or FEATURE. We ranted on the 'innovations' brought by Windows 7, so why cant we do the same for mobile tech??
  6. USER-REMOVABLE COMPONENTS. I am sure you all see teardown videos of smartphones, on YT channels like JerryRigEverything. We want to do the same thing but with minimal tools and effort. The only thing stopping us from prying the components out are the adhesives. We had smartphones with removable batteries that were slimmer than the competition! Remember Galaxy S4 ? i owned that shit and i used it for 4 years because i could swap the battery, ALL ON MY OWN. Why do we still use neanderthal technologies like a GLUE in the 21st century?? Cant these tech companies come up with a solution that ensures components stay in place without GLUE??

I could go one and on, but i can see this RANT is already too long and ppl might get bored.

Please share your opinions
