Chinese Chipmaker Loongson Launches Its First Processor 3A5000, To Use The LoongArch Architecture

Chinese chipmaker Loongson unveiled the newest processor in their lineup, which is a quad-core clocked at 2.3 – 2.5 GHz and uses 64bit GS464V microarchitecture which features four ALUs arithmetic logic units) and two 256-bit vector units per core. The Loongson processor is being marketed for laptops, industrial environments, and some server applications.

The Loongson 3A5000 is an incredibly fast, efficient machine. It has two DDR4-3200 memory controllers and a dedicated encryption module for security purposes. This processor also comes equipped with four HyperTransport 3.0 SMP controllers that allow multiple computers to operate in unison inside one system just like Intel’s Xeons or AMD’s Epycs!
