(RANT) Samsung's Broken Alarm

So, this morning I had a driving lesson scheduled for 6:00 AM. I set an alarm on my trusty Samsung Galaxy S6 for 5:00 AM so I could wake up and attend said driving lesson (it's from one of those schools that pick you up and take you for a 2 hour spin and then drive you back). It was today that my Samsung decided to not have the alarm ring, which, mind you, was set to emit a loud noise at maximum volume along with a vibration. This alarm has never failed to wake me up in my 2 years of owning this device.

Basically, I slept through the exam and had to apologize to my instructor, whom I found out had driven 50 miles for nothing. He also refused to give me another shot, and, as a result, I now have to find someone else.

I knew that I didn't sleep through the alarm because a.) sleeping through it would be similar to sleeping through a gun fired right next to your ear, and b.) the alarm didn't grey out like it always does after either ringing and timing out or being manually turned off by me.

tl;dr - Samsung has engineered their phones to continue working at 100% capability for a really long time, but they forgot to add that longevity to their alarms, which are extremely important things for some people. This flaw not only caused me great embarrassment, but it reduced my available selection of driving instructors in a town where such people are very limited.

Thanks, Samsung!

And yes it was set for AM and not PM. And no it wasn't for 5:00 AM the next week. And yes I'll probably buy the S7 anyways.

Ok rant over.
