bootup problems pc

tl:dr - old pc has startup problems, need help

Hey guys, I got an old generic pc from my grandparents a few days ago (it is from 07 and ran on xp), but they havent been using it for at least 2+ years. I was trying to start it up (power light is on at all times after i turn the power supply on), but the responses I get are:

  1. absolutely nothing happens except for the power light.
  2. fans start up, dvd drive can be opened and closed, but no video. Three beeps can be heard(this does not happen anymore). After i turn it off and try turning it back on, the fans turn on again for a second, but nothing happens again after that. The power light is still on until i turn the power supply off.
  3. fans start up for about 1-3 seconds, then turn off, then turn on again. An Intel screen appears, says to press f2 for BIOS menu or f10 for boot options. If i press f2, i get: CMOS battery failure, CMOS checksum error and a date and time not set error. The fans usually stop whirring at this point and the video cuts out, i think the pc turns off after that. If the fans/video do not cut out, i get a screen telling me to choose how do I want to boot the pc. If the pc still does not turn off here, which is very rare, I can choose an option and start windows xp, at which point the computer almost always turns off. It loaded fully once, there were still my grandparents folders there and the time was not set. It was working, but then I accidentally bumped the case into my table lightly, and the pc immediately shut off.

I have tried dusting everything off, changing the power cable, the video cables, monitors, ram sticks and I changed the CMOS battery 3 times, to no avail. I have checked, and it seems all the cables are plugged in. I can not find the exact pc anywhere on the net. I also think the graphics card was changed at some point in the pcs life, but it still worked after that. On the back, there is written: AT computers, type: PC ALZA. I am from the czech republic, and alza is a big store focusing on electronics. The specs I was able to find are:

cpu: Intel Pentium D

board: Intel Desktop Board D946GZIS

graphics card: MSI R4650

ram: kingston kvr667d2n5/2g

power supply: Fortron 350W

hard drive: Western Digital WD3200AAKS

I suspect it is either a power supply failure because of the sudden turning off problem, or a problem with the little battery, but since i have changed that (CR2032) 3 times, I really dont know any more. pls help.
