Name a time when people complained about innovation only for it to become apart of our daily-lives

This is something I've been thinking about today - everyone once complained about Apple removing the original charging port in favour of a lightning port, and when Apple removed the 3.5mm jack (the last analogue output on mobile devices).

All of these things were complained about, only for people to realise it's not so bad after-all, leading to innovation etc.

What are some other times people complained about a feature being removed/replaced, only for it to be realised as a benefit to innovation?
