The Hyperloop isn’t a new concept – it has been around for years but has always been a little out of reach. And, as someone who travels considerably distances each year, I have to admit on more than one occasion I have wished for a quicker way to get somewhere and thought that something like an Hyperloop would be mighty handy. Well, companies are starting to think it may be within reach and are trying to make the tech happen. They include billionaire Elon Musk’s Boring Co., which was said to be looking at a route from Maryland to Washington, D.C., and Richard Branson’s Virgin Hyperloop One, which is looking at a route that would tie Pittsburgh to Chicago via Columbus. Don’t get me wrong, some people aren’t overly excited about being propelled in pods through cylindrical steel tubes of 700 mph or more, but if it could cut hours off your travel time…. I think I would give it a go. How about you?
