Almost every single Facebook ad I see contains 400+ fake reviews written by seemingly normal people. You can tell by the repeated phrases and the Marketing speak that normal people don't say. The same is true for Amazon, Trust Pilot etc.
I guess the problem comes in two forms
Totally fake reviews, written by the content or product creator, and using services that generate all the reviews.
Normal people writing reviews that they've been told to write in return for discounts or free products.
Both types are obviously misleading to consumers. Type 2 is harder to police, especially as it seems to be fairly common practice to give people review copies of products in return for "fair reviews", but everyone knows that if you don't give them a 5 star review, you either won't get your discount or you won't get future products.
The perfect outcome is that only honest reviews exist, that have not been influenced by incentives or have not been flat out paid for.
Is it ever going to be possible to get to that outcome?
Hi everyone,
My names Rebecca and I'm a final year Marketing student at an Irish university. I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in taking part in an online focus group as part of my research for my final year dissertation? It's regarding the trust and acceptance of AI for advertising purposes. It would be run over the course of 7 days with one question posted each day, it will be completely text-based so no video or audio from you is required. Unfortunately, it's unpaid but I think it could be an interesting discussion between you and fellow participants. Most likely it will be run in the next week or two. Any help would be hugely appreciated! Feel free to comment with any questions!
Due to the movement of robots within the physical space of humans, there exists an imminent threat from robots to harm fellow human beings.
To mitigate this threat, Asimov suggested the Three Laws of Robotics which guide the behavior of robots within a human-cluttered environment:
Robots must protect themselves without violating the first two rules

Also wondering peoples thoughts positive and negative about going with one of the three concentration options im offered to take for this degree. They are cyber security, user interface experience, and software development.
I need to know if a website or app exists that can hold and secure a specific code and only release it on a specified date. Basically I want to lock a certain drug in a safe with a combo lock set by another person and have the code released to me on my specified date so I don't get carried away with using. Timelock safes don't generally work past a week.

Hey Tech enthusiasts!
I am researching on tech communities to design extensions/bots/ mini products/platforms to improve the overall experience of the community. I would be great if you guys can answer these questions .
1. Biggest problems you see in communities and platforms they are based on
For example: -Not able to search and find posts due to absence of organisation features in the platform- Redundancy in posts and no automatic moderation.
2.Any mini products/ features/bot ideas that you think might help the community?
For example:A simple extension which tells you the particular product 's launch date, it's lifecycle and if it's going to be updated anytime soon. So that people can decide when buying...
You can also submit more detailed answers in a survey by DM'ng me for a conversation on this.
Be a part of this small research which can help us know how you use the community, gauge all your problems and build simple solutions.
This is in a case study stage now to build mini products. The obvious solution to most problems might be a platform itself around network of tech enthusiasts, general consumers, brands, content creators..
Looking forward to your answers and conversations…
Hi there,
Big fan (and still using it on windows 7) Yahoo Widget I'd like to create a repositery of some sorts, a widgets cemetery if you will, to put on display and offer use of it's many tiny itsy bitty applications many of u found so useful back in these days.
So, please, contact me or give me links to your favorite ones, preferably still working but dead are kindly accepted.
I'm from france and managed to salvage some of them, even repaired 2 (at last, my favorite yahoo weather stopped working once and for all after a 1st repair).
Thanks.
A tech startup CEO wants to buy my app, which I had only made for learning and portfolio purposes.
So it makes no profit at the moment since the development of it was never intended for commercial purposes. I never pitched it to anyone nor never said to anyone I want to sell it. He's making the offer.
This is what he sent me. I'll use hashtags in place of the CEO name and the company:
Evening, ###### here,
I'm going to need you to give me a price of me buying you out.
And at a 100%. Meaning I will own it.
I'll take a look at your offer and after a couple of months, will give you direct feedback to your offer and if I like it, we will begin the paper work.
Thanks
Yours Faithfully
########### CEO

So we've actually known each other for a couple months now, and he did make it clear that he's interested in the app more than once.
He knows that a lot of work would still have to be in to get it near a competitive level, since right now as it stands, it just has basic features and mediocre design.
I'm thinking perhaps I should let him buy since he may make more use of it then I have.
What offer should I put down.
I assume the time I put into it would be one of the factors I should consider, which was 6 months of work, from start to finish.
I wouldn't mind hanging to a percentage of the app, but not too much that I have to be the one still putting work into it. I wouldn't mind profiting, but I have no interest to continue working on the app myself.
I'd appreciate some advice.
Highest grade medical equipment manufacturer in Delhi, India & global exporter and holloware manufacturer, dental autoclave, dental UV chambers and other medical equipment.
How is 5G that significantly faster then Fibre optic cable connections? Isn’t fibre optic cables literally the speed of light, whereas 5G is radio waves (which is also speed of light, so he’s it quicker?)
Is it Because there is certain things that slow it down, and radio waves just don’t get slowed down?
I’m just just learning this so bare with me if it’s obvious lol
Xfinity just sent out an email to customers. Are they admitting that the internet should be a utility?
I'm looking for some advice regarding web development and would appreciate any insight from a technical expert. If you have a few minutes to spare, please DM me. Happy to provide expertise in return if you're looking for any professional advice in the finance, budgeting, investment and borrowing areas. Thank you!
