Some people have a fear that as technology becomes more intertwined with our selves, as the barrier between A.I. and the human mind is slowly torn down, profound knowledge about our inner selves will be uncovered that leads to unfettered control over people. But what if the opposite is true. What if as the barrier is torn down we discover that there is nothing profound about ourselves. That instead of us being greater than the sum of our parts, we are only equal to them. Maybe even less.
