I have a question regarding condenser microphones / studio microphones on the Xbox one.
(Skip this part if you wish it’s just context) I recently had the idea of trying my pc microphone with my Xbox one so I didn’t have to use a crappy Kinect microphone. You may wonder why I don’t just buy a headset... that’s because I don’t like wearing headsets and much prefer using earphones.
My pc microphone is of high quality and clarity is perfect. I can’t find the specs of what my microphone is but it’s just a mid range microphone for 30/40 pound off amazon.
I bought an adapter for my Xbox controller so I could have a 3.5mm output - earphone and microphone jack therefore my microphone would connect and my earphones also from the controller. All works fine but the problem is the sensitivity on the microphone seems to be terrible when plugged into my controller and struggles to pick me up. I pretty much have to have my mouth touching the microphone and have to talk quite loud for it to sense my voice and show up in party.
Where as on my pc it’s perfectly fine picks me up no matter what. I gather that’s due to the sensitivity being set to +20db on the microphone on windows. But even so I remember when it wasn’t +20db it wasn’t exactly an issue or at least I didn’t have to have the mic in my mouth.
Please if anyone has any suggestions let me know or at least of any alternatives. Just want to be able to use a microphone on my Xbox rather than Kinect.
Don’t suggest the Xbox app on pc please because I would rather not have my pc having to be turned on at the same time as my console.
Bump up please, I need a resolve. If you need any pictures additionally let me know.
