Hi all, I'm in a looking for advice because I can't decide what I want to do with my cell phone situation.
Right now I have an Iphone 6 that's horribly slow. Close to unusable. The GPS is super spotty. It's connection to Wifi works about 75% of the time. The charge blows. And for some odd reason my phone, like, calls numbers randomly without it showing as an out going call.. i get calls from random numbers all the time saying that they are calling me back about a missed call.
Also, I just graduated college and am about to start paying my own phone plan and will either get off the plan my brother and I share or pay my dad my share of that said plan. My brother and I split a plan where collectively we get unlimited data. Essentially I would pay $85 a month for unlimited talk/text/data.
Any recommendations going forward about what type of phone I should get or what type of plan I should go on? I generally use a lot of data - 10gb a month - but thats partly because I know my plan is unlimited and my phone's connection with wifi is trash.
I was thinking I might want to go on Google's Project Fi plan, but I haven't heard too many 1st hand accounts of that yet. If i were to go that direction, I would pay a max of $80 a month for virtually the same plan as Verizon, with the possibility of spending less depending on data used. Also, if that was the case I would go on to purchase a Google Pixel. That brings me to another dilemma - should I go ahead now and purchase either the Pixel 2 or 2 XL, or should I try to wait until October when the 3 and 3 XL are suspected to be released. If I were to wait, I could possibly get the 2 or 2 XL for cheaper, or buy a superior product in the 3 or 3 XL that hopefully has wireless charging, along with additional features. Anyone have any comments about Project Fi or Google Pixels?
Money is not like a huge huge deal, but no shit I'm trying to make sure I'm on the best deal for the best price.
Thanks y'all
