Apple makes it nearly impossible to get old versions of their operating systems and so does windows. Like what do they gain by hiding a windows 95 ISO to play with in virtualbox or vmware.

What You'll Be Doing in 20 Years Doesn't Exist Yet
Imagine telling your parents in 1960 or 1970 that you were going to design video games for a living. Or telling them in the 1980’s that you were going to design websites. Or telling them in the ’90’s that you were going to get paid to create software applications for mobile telephones. Or in the early 2000’s that you would be paid to “tweet” 140 character messages.
Chances are, whatever you’ll be doing in 20 years doesn’t yet exist, or at least not in any way you can imagine or describe. Not long ago the idea of work that didn’t require manual labor, or living in a big city, or going to an office was unthinkable. Today it’s ubiquitous.
Innovation keeps moving. That means picking that one clear career destination and forming a perfect path to it is probably unrealistic for an increasing number of people. It’s more important to start with a broad swath of things you’re interested in, get as much knowledge and experience as you can in many areas, and begin to add to the list of things you know you really don’t want to do. Eliminate the bad options. Anything else is fair game.
Do this, and develop and refine general, transferable skills like critical thinking, communication, emotional intelligence, and a reputation for hard work, and you will be able to see and seize opportunities. Better yet, you’ll be able to create new ones.
You’ve got to think like an entrepreneur, whether you ever plan to start a business or not.
Ask around. How many people imagined 20 years ago they’d be doing what they do now? Neither will you.
The world can be your oyster. Be ready.

Best Cloud Storage?
So....I’m on a fairly limited budget and have a ton of files on an external drive that are currently not backed up. I’m in the process of backing up smaller files to the cloud - all of my pictures will be stored on either OneDrive or iCloud. That being said, I have a massive video collection (about 4TB currently) that make up my home media server that I want backup copies of in case of drive failure or environmental issues (I live in an apartment building). Is there an affordable option out there for backup? I looked up Carbonite, and because I would be using an external drive, the yearly subscription is almost $300. I simply can’t afford that. Once you get over 2TB, the prices skyrocket.

‘Game-changing’ high-tech scans could predict risk of a heart attack YEARS before they occur
New high-tech scans could predict the risk of heart attack years before they occur, with the ability to spot dangers that are missed by the tests and scans currently used. Heart attacks are usually caused by inflamed plaques in the coronary artery causing an abrupt blockage of blood getting to the heart - a common cause of death. This new technology is a game changer for sure.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Review
Samsung can take credit for sparking an interest in big phones. The original Galaxy note review with its 5.3-inch screen was met with scepticism and a bit of ridicule at first, but by today's standards, it would seem almost dainty. The trouble for samsung is that with nearly all phones (including its own) pushing the limits of what a pocket can hold, what sets the Galaxy Note line apart? With nearly identical hardware and software as the Galaxy S series, the new galaxy note 9 doesn't even serve as a half-yearly refresh, like so many other companies push out. The answer, then, is the S Pen, which Samsung is now leaning heavily on. Over the years, it has become slimmer and more sensitive, and now it has gained a whole new set of functions. We're curious to see whether there's anything else to this phone that we haven't seen before, and whether the S Pen really elevates Android to a place that none of Samsung's competitors can reach.

How The Internet Of Things And AI Help Keep The Lights On
Internet of Things technologies have an impact far beyond our homes, especially when it comes to energy. Smart meters, for example, give a clearer picture of energy usage not only to consumers, but to grid operators too, taking the guesswork out of balancing supply and demand. In addition, ongoing surveillance of sensor data and AI-driven analytics can help plant operators find potential problems early and take action. Keeping things lit! :D

Computer predictions 'control' cholera
Cholera cases in Yemen have been slashed by a new system that predicts where outbreaks will occur. Supercomputers are now determining the specific amount of rain that will fall and pinpoint the areas it will hit within a 10km radius, an important aspect to know as downpours tend to overwhelm the sewerage system and spread the infection. With this essential information scientists can predict the areas most likely to experience an outbreak, up to 4 weeks in advance, but can these computers actually resolve the issue?

Virtual future that doesn't involve wearing goggles
Experts now see the future of virtual images breaking free from the constraints of headgear, in a way that makes the user experience more interactive and applicable to the real world. Looking Glass, a new startup company, has created portable devices that display 3D holograms, meaning that digital computing won't involve bulky goggles any longer. Shawn Frayne, the founder, explains that their "goal at Looking Glass is to get the hologram into every home and school and hospital, because we believe that's the only way to allow people to interact with advanced 3D content without headsets." Incredible innovation and opportunity for a variety of users! How would you apply this to your daily routine??

Eye tracking creates infinite VR space
Researchers at Adobe have discovered a way to redirect a user in the virtual reality world. The system uses sensors to detect obstacles in the real world and a floor plan of the room to help plan how to redirect the user - the bigger the room the user is in, the bigger virtual reality can be explored. Experts see this technology being used in gaming, but it can also be highly beneficial for architects, design and education. This will remarkably help students to study from all locations, without jeopardizing the quality of teaching, thus increasing the amount of people with higher academic degrees!!

Google Glass is back
So back in 2013, Google Glass was released but it was too early for its on time that people didn't fully support it. Back then I thought "what a waste of money and time" because really, what does the glass could do that my phone couldn't? Okay, yes, there's the hands-free part, but back then the world may not be really for something as innovative as that. But now, Google Glass 2.0 is back with some upgrades, and after reading some articles about it and found out that it was actually beneficial to business industries I realized that, perhaps, now is the time everyone give it another chance. I come across this blog post on Android Central where the author cited that although there are some people that still have doubts about it, perhaps it is a product that we will want by 2019. The question is, are we ready for something like Google Glass 2.0 this time?

Browsing inappropriate websites safely.
So i'm not very familiar with Reddit, this was the best category thing to put this in that I could find. To be safer, I'll just call it pron for now (Not sure how sensitive this place is). Anyway, I'd like some answers on how to browse inappropriate websites while not getting viruses. I want to start using pronhub, but I'm afraid I may accidentally get a virus. I'm not dumb, I know the obvious things of how to avoid them (not clicking ads, etc.) but a lot of the time, somehow something randomly pops up and looks suspicious so i quickly close it. On my phone, I don't have an adblocker, but I value my phone less over my PC in terms of which one I'd rather get a virus, but for my PC i have an adblocker. If I go on pronhub, with an ablocker, don't click any blatant ads, will I be fine? Are the suggested videos on the home page fine to click? What is not fine to click? I really want to avoid getting viruses on my PC & phone. I feel safer using my PC as it has adblocker. I'm just very paranoid about getting a virus. This was written pretty poorly, so to sum it up, how can I assure that I will not get any viruses or similar things on my PC and phone when using pronhub?
Because I just tried clicking on a pronhub video, and it opened up a new page. I didn't quite read it clearly, as I immediately closed the new page & the original page. Its url was something like "bateingo" or something. Stuff like this happening is what makes me so paranoid, and I'm not sure what to do.

Is there any way someone can tell when you open the attached Word document to their email on Gmail? Any software or tracking device?
Sorry to be so dumb, I'm not technologically inclined. Someone (very digitally savvy) has sent me a word document via email and told me to edit it within 2 hours. I'm on gmail, they're on outlook. I'd rather spend more on it and make it better. If I click on it on google without downloading it and view the content that way, is there any way they could tell I've done that? Or is there any way I can send the word document back to them without them knowing I've spent longer on it than allocated?

Should I buy this iPhone? Ebay advice
Hey there,
I was interesting in purchasing a brand new iPhone from ebay. I came across a seller called 'AllDayZip' They have some awesome prices for their phones. I was wondering if this seems shady they have tons of positive reviews, and only 1 negative review. They're shipping the phones from the United States, I live in Canada and don't know if they will work with my providers such as Rogers, Bell, Fido, Telus, Freedom, and so on. If anyone can take a look at the ad, since I can't post the link I would appreciate it.
P.s. I really need to find a new phone, I'll be starting school in September!
Thank you!

Does anyone have experience and advice for charging a laptop in a car/truck?
I drive a truck and have a lot of down time whilst waiting for the truck to be loaded and unloaded on site (sometimes up to a couple of hours) I play a lot of pc games at home and own a dell 7577 laptop. I was wondering if it’s possible current wise and if there is something I can buy to plug the laptop into either the 12v or 24v cigarette plug of the truck to keep it charged enough to play games at work. The charger brick for the laptop I have is 180watts. 19.5v/9.23a output. Thank you.

I need some help with my audio
So I bought these JBL headphones not so long ago after severely damaging my wired ones. After I connected it to my pc I started using it to listen to music watch vids etc. and it was working great. However, recently I noticed that it starts having issues when I try to use the mic. Whenever I join a call on discord or in-game any audio that was happening prior to joining the call immediately cuts off. After that, I can't hear anything at all. I've been told that others can hear me perfectly fine, it's just that I can't hear anything. I've been trying to figure it out with my audio settings, and I've come to the conclusion that my pc can't go from handsfree to stereo. Whenever I'm listening to audio it's set to JBL stereo and whenever I begin to use the mic it switches to handsfree. I thought that maybe if I used handsfree for both it would work, alas it's not even an option to play audio with handsfree. I've tried the same headphones with my phone and iPad and have been able to use it in calls perfectly fine so the problem is clearly with my pc. I run windows 10 on an HP envy if that helps at all. Is it any way possible for me to use these headphones to play audio and to speak at the same time? Any help is much appreciated!

Connection Timeout every 10 or 5 minutes
Hi, i know that i made this kind of topic some 2 months ago, but the problem is not fixed, i'm losing connection in every game every 5 minutes for some 2 seconds and i had to reconnect back to the server to play again. My internet is pretty good it has like 3ms and 100mbps speed, i wanted to change my router but i can't, because my ISP has some "nano-tech" technology that has some extra cables under the router and this is stopping me to change my router. Well... i tried somehow to get an another router and connect it with a ethernet cable to the principal router that i have, aaaand..the problem is not fixed, it does the same thing. Guys, come with some suggestions that will help me, i have this problem for about 2 years and it's frustrating.
And also my motherboard is an Asus PQ5-PRO with an 750watt PSU. OS is Windows 10 pro x64. The router is an ZTE F660.
I'll love it if some of the suggestions will work.
Thanks.

Xbox one alters blue snowball mic quality
I recently have been using my blue snowball mic for Xbox party chat by connecting an aux cord from my pc to my headset adapter and microphone splitter. It works fine but I recently noticed the mic quality is being completely altered by my Xbox.
It is strange to me how I can record a voice message then the immediate playback will sound crystal clear until I close and reopen the message and the quality becomes the equivalent of a $10 Walmart mic. When talking in an Xbox party my friends can only hear the altered version of the mic. The mic sounds great on pc I'm just not sure how I can prevent my Xbox from altering the quality.
I appreciate any advice thank you :)

PlayStation wont let me add funds
Everytime I try adding a credit card to my PlayStation account it won't let me do it. It always says the card number is wrong (even if it's right) or that there's an error. I've called PlayStation and they said that it was fixed but it isn't. Is there any way I can fix this?

NiMh batteries
I no longer have a use for them after switching to a mouse with built-in batteries. But I have a lot of sunk cost in the charger and the batteries.
I do have an old travel shaver I can dig but but not too excited about that.
Does anything still need AA batteries or should I just prepare to toss'em?

I want to get into the tech industry.
Hi, in short I've been working in Warehouse and Skilled Trades my entire working career and it's taking it's toll on my body. I'd love to get into tech due to the high pay, ubiquity, and lack of physical intensity. Are there any programs that you guys would reccomend? Kinda like a machine operator only has to take a month long course and two exams, or how there's two-week EMT course? What would be the technological equivalent to save my back and get me some extra cash.
