So my pc is a lenovo ideacentre B320. Since many days, the vrm or Northbridge chipset of my motherboard was heating which resulted in a loss of display (although the pc works in the background). So to fix this i opened the case which extended the time to blackout from 10 mins to almost 30 mins. Since it was an overheating problem, I decided to speed up the fans of pc. Unfortunately, the bios had no option like that and no software like speedfan detected any fan on pc. (the fans spin very very very very slow). So, I decided to unscrew one of the two pc fans which I had and decided to place one of them on the vrm with the help of some duct tape. This worked in the first try and I got considerably long time before the screen turned black again. After a few days, the duct tape came off. So I decided to retape the fan again above the vrm (the pc was running at that time ). But as I lifted up my fan from its place, the wire stretched a bit and to my surprise both the fans started spinning like crazy. They made noise like a jet engine. But after 2 to 3 seconds, my whole pc turned off. When I started it again, their speed returned to normal. Can anyone explain me what caused the fans to speed up and can I speed them up like permanently. Also pls help me with this vrm thing. Thanks. I seriously need help. My country is in lockdown, so I can't even go to a repair shop.
