Need to know weather to buy on my laptop or Xbox One.
I have this app for reading manga, that got removed from Google play store for copyright issues. And I can't find it anywhere else on the web. And I was wondering if there was a way to move the app over to a new phone. I have tried for a few hours to find the app on my phone via my pc, but all I can find is the save data. Is there a way to move the appfiles over to another phone?
Alright so I just got my iPhone 6 phone replaced and the first thing I noticed the wallpaper looks a little pixelated, I thought maybe it's just cause I'm not used to it, I start going through my phone and everything just looks completely blurryish, now I just went through my gallery to look at pictures and they are all pixelated like hell and it kind of pissed me off, I paid 130$ for a screen replacement and I need to know if it's possible for screen replacements to not come with Retina display someone please let me know
I know, I know. It's another one of them fanboy posts about Keynotes, etc... But with Apple really holding back on some much needed feature additions for at least a few years now, I am curious to see what people's personal predictions and thoughts/ opinions are on Apple's upcoming Keynote, and their recent Keynotes in general.
I have always been an Apple fanboy, but I must admit that the excitement is fading for me when watching Keynotes in the last year or so; and am curious to see if this is how most people feel now.
I welcome the Android crew to bash this, but at least try to do so semi-constructively :)
Cheers,
Billy
What are your thoughts on Google's growing competition towards Uber-like services... Do you think they might ultimately take on and beat Uber in this sector?
Hey Tech community!
As the world around us is disrupted by amazing tech innovations, I'm curious if anyone knows of ways in which tech can improve alumni-relations for schools and organizations?
I work for an organization who invests heavily in creating better, more meaningful lives for its participants. We care deeply about maintaining a connection after the program ends, and maintain a mailing list of a few thousand alumni email addresses.
My vision is to send out a 5-7 minute video to the entire list once a week, in which a mentor records one short, simple and easy to digest life lesson for our alumni to learn from.
Aside from Twitter/FB, does anyone know of a good platform for sending out these emails? Ideally, this would also allow alumni to comment on these videos, and allow me to see how many people are viewing them.
Thanks for the help!
Sam
On my mobile phone I am looking at information on the cell tower I am connected with. Amongst MCC, MNC, LAC and CellID and I get a cell name too, which is an address.
Does somebody know where this address come from? Is it derived from gps coordinates or is it just data somebody entered in the cell tower's config?
I am asking, because when I check the location of a cell tower on opencellid.org or cellidfinder.com it never fits with the address that I receive from the tower.
I've got some opinions I want to force out on the world... Not really, just want a place write about stuff. But I haven't a clue how to get a blog started. Any help?
We have heard of the iBeacon for quite some time, will it take off anytime soon? Seems like so far there are still too much restrictions on using the technology...
Not sure if this post is exactly appropriate for here but it does have to do with "tech" X)
My license is up for renewal and I have the option of getting an Enhanced Drivers License. Yes I think its cool you can use the EDL instead of a passport to Mexico and Canada but I think the EDL has unsecured RFID.

Tech - I get that there are advantages but what are the disadvantages?
Edit: added links for context
text.gives is one free services, but has bad reviews and is untrustworthy. Donors would have an easier time donating if I had a text to donate option where you text 5 digits or so and the amt in the message, I believe it's called SMS premium peer to peer service, but can't afford these monthly subscriptions. Any help on possibly setting it up on your own? thank you
Today I was at a client's house and needed to connect my iPhone to their wifi. First off, my client is a little odd, I don't trust him. He owns a company that installs wifi and Internet networks for large businesses including universities and large office blocks but basically he's a control freak about it. The wifi in his house is (for a not-so-techy guy like me) quite secure, ie. to access it I had to give him my MAC address and he had to register it online somewhere or something. Basically, I'm paranoid that when I'm using the wifi there he'll have some sort of access to my phone. Any kind of access - like I've heard of ways of monitoring people's screens through the wifi they're connected to. He has kids and he's very protective (which, okay, I understand and that's totally fair enough and somewhat admirable - God knows I looked up whatever the f I wanted when I was young and my parents knew nothing) they told me he sees everything they search and everyone they talk to. And yeah I'll be honest coz f it I'm on Reddit and nobody knows me - I have shit on my phone I don't want him knowing about. He'd probably no longer be my client. He has some block around his house and land so his kids can't get 3G either.
So basically, how do I know he's not monitoring the shit out of my phone?
Maybe I should stop smoking weed. 🤔
Hey guys, so you have all heard of how fully discharging is bad for your battery right? Well did you guys also hear about the memory effect that batteries also have? If anyone knows anything about this, would you be able to weigh the pros and cons of fully draining the battery to reduce memory effect vs partially charging to save battery life
I've been waiting a week now for the folio keyboard to come back in stock, and it has not! The only thing I could find online was a forum with someone asking the same question, with the knowledge that it's been out of stock in the google store since february!
This is a system that I thought of to make city life much safer and better
When I refer to cars in this post I am referring to self driving cars
Basically all cars and phone are connected together. allowing for easy route planning knowing where all cars are and the phones can be used to call over uber like cars or your own privately owned car or tell it to do things while you are not in the car and your key can be used as a backup in case your phone is stolen basically the key makes it so you can't control the car unless you have both
This means no traffic because all cars know the best route for EVERYONE not just the shortest route so only a limited amount of people can be in a small area at once and they will constantly be communicating about the condition of the car (in case of technological or equipment failure so cars will steer away) the importance of getting to the location they are going (if someone is already late for something they take priority over someone who is early or not going somewhere important)
Traffic lights are out of the question because cars already handle that in there own way which can be a more efficient method because it no longer has to be simple it can be as complex as necessary.
Bridges and elevated sidewalks are used for pedestrians (similar it venis Italy) so even if a car crashed no one pedestrians would get hurt or die
If there's any way I can make this plan more practical please tell me
My passport just died, and it is going to cost $200 to buy out my plan and get a new phone. I can get a new phone for $0 on a two year term. The options are Sony Xperia XA, Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, Nexus 6P, LG G4, Moto X Play. Samsung Galaxy J1, iPhone 5s, .
What phone would you recommend and why?
I have an iPhone 6, today i tried charging it in all of the outlets of my room. For some reason the only way it will charge is when it's hooked up to my ps4. I've tried different cables and different outlet adapters. Can anyone help me with that, or maybe point me in the right direction?
IMO, you can do more on Premiere compared to iMovie
Features: - 11" screen - full width keyboard - 20 second boot - only one port for external devices - built in printer
Disadvantages: - two colour scree b - no mouse - only has 5 applications - port is a 3.5" floppy drive - made in 1984 - weighs quite a lot...

A few years ago I had a droid bionic with a lapdock. I thought it was a great idea just a little before it's time. Is it possible that now, with far more powerful phones maybe this could become a thing? I've always wondered if I'm the only person that thinks the concept is a good idea. Now I see that HP is giving it another shot with a Windows phone. Do you think it will be more popular this time?
Let's see the power of Reddit , I am giving a link of my blog tech from everywhere.blogsot.com let's see how many views I get in 100hrs .
It's a challenge!!! Results will be updated on 25th March along with proof.
Express ur answers with facts.
Ok, my room is definitely fucking spying on me. The other day I came home and under my "file explorer" tab on windows 8, I saw his computer listed under my documents, downloads, Hard drive etc. I immediately disconnected from our wifi and disabled file sharing. Yesterday, he got a notice about a torrent downloading. Then he says " I mean yeah, I checked your IP and all the traffic through your IP and you definitely weren't using wifi at 8:17 when Comcast reported an illegal download to me".
He's very tech savvy, a senior data analyst at Comcast where we get out wifi from.
If I get another provider for myself, will he still be able to see my internet history?
Would a VPN work? Or something?
Please, any advice would be great as I feel like I literally have no privacy.
First, I would assume that an entire email can be removed from a hacked group of emails, without anyone being able to tell after the public dump. Am I right?
I am unclear if a particular sentence or word can be changed within an email and go undetected.
Or to ask another way, what would it take after the hack, to know to know if an email had been altered?
Currently looking for some solid headphones. Budget is around $100. Any suggestions? Connectivity (Bluetooth or wired) doesn't matter. Thanks.
Never had a drone and I'm not really tech savvy but I'm wondering if it's possible to get a drone that can reach far distances. Preferably with camera and reasonable price.
Hello people! I'm looking for a digital video camera for $200 or under. What would be the best bang for my 200 bucks? I'm looking for durability and reliability. This will primarily be used for family videos over the years.
Hi guys, I've been living my life with a broken Samsung Galaxy Ace for the past 6 months and I can't take it anymore.
I'm 21 but not very tech savvy, I have no clue when it comes to phones and their specs really. I have a budget which can't stretch any further than £115-£120. All I know is I'd like a phone which takes great pictures, can store a lot of games, music etc. And won't make me stand out as the dude with the old phone (tired of being that guy). From a little research I've narrowed down what I've found to be the 'best' according to various lists on google. The phones are:
Cubot X17
Smart Ultra 6
Nexus 5X
I have a friend who offered me an Iphone 5 for £50-£70 apparently brand new. Should I ask her about that? Sounds sketchy.
What do you recommend? Are the 3 listed above good or is there better?
I am not sure should I root my lg g4 and I really want to modify my phone but I have heating problems sometimes and I'm not sure what should I do??
I have a sweet red flip phone from around 2010 that is snapped in half. I have a video of my daughter dancing like no one is watching. It is the kind of cute you can't even grasp. Any chance I can see it?
So i have one of those Ethernet plugs in my room, and I want to get Ethernet on my ps4 and desktop. I have a linksys Cisco router looking thing that is supposed to be like a pass through for the cables, but it's not passing the Internet to either, they both say they are not connected but the router says it has Internet, also the lights are flickering a lot and fast. Pls help
Hi, I recently broke the screen on my MacBook Pro 13 inch Retina display. I was just wondering what the cheapest option is for me to get it fixed?
I’m Jean Templin, the VP of Product for Sticky.
I’m building the next generation customer experience platform measuring everything from eye tracking to emotions. If you give us access to your webcam, we can tell where you’re looking and how you’re feeling! Don’t worry, we’re not the NSA ---- you have to opt-in for every study (and everything is anonymous!) Video Emotion Analytics was just released today. You can read about how it can be used to save video marketers millions of dollars here, and for some more background on the tech and how emotions can predict behavior, check out this article here.
Using eye tracking and emotion coding, makers of visual content will be able to predict how visual media affects behavior. We can test anything from webpages to videos, and everything in between! Current customers include Nielsen, AOL, Dish, and others. We help them optimize their content before release.
I also encourage you to check out our site and sign up here to see much more.
Tomorrow you can ask me anything about eye tracking, visual optimization, and how emotions can predict behavior! Check out the AMA at 1pm PST on /r/iama!
There's energy all around us, currently I'm researching & devolping a "lightning rod".
Using a well, water is pulled into an aquifer that sends current to a battery, in the middle- water is heated & used to generate current from vaporization, up top is a receiving antenna that can take in solar & scalar energy & deliver to the battery in tandem with a windmill generator.
After development; I'd like to publish an instructional paper on how to build your own with repurposed components.
Always open to ideas & criticism.
Have a good afternoon, everyone.
The reason I ask is because I'm interested in buying one but i don't know how/what to research as far as Bluetooth technologies are concerned. Are dongles basically all the same or are there some that have better tech differences that will connect better? Also how can i tell when looking at one at say Newegg if one is better than another? Hopefully I posted this in the subreddit.
Edit- Are there differences in distance, or will most of them be the same from a distance of about 2-3 meters?

Hey guys! I'm really a fan of the new touchwiz aka Grace UX that appeared on the note 7. Not because of the touchwiz itself, I use nova launcher anyway, but the refinement and return of the animations such as the unlock transition and the notification tray little pull-down animation. Those are some very important details for me and those who like the beauty of using a device and its software. My question to you is: Do you think the new User Interface roll out as an update to previous generatioj devices? Such as the s7 and the s6 and so on?👻
Evening everyone! Heres what we want to do, we are building a new patio area with a full roof and open walls to the elements(Wisconsin) and we want to build network it as best as we can. Heres what Im looking for and any input would be awesome. 1. Wall Mounted TV 2. Surround sound installed into ceiling/walls 3. Surround sound with bluetooth capability for phone audio 4. Minimal wired set, as much of it with wifi/blue tooth as possible. 5. Environmental systems off phone, will have fans and lights built into ceiling.
We do a lot of entertaining and a TV and a Sound system that can link to our phone is really want we want here.
Any input or prod into the right direction would be great.
Hi Reddit! I'm a full-time college student looking to invest in a new laptop (or alternative, if we're discussing the Surface). In addition to the fact that I'm a college student and pursuing writing, I also want something that I can occasionally game on via Steam. I'm just torn between these two right now, however any additional suggestions would be awesome! My budget is about $1500.
I don't even know if this is correct sub, but we were skyping earlier, and he accidentally unplugged his hyperx cloud 2s and the mic stopped working. If I could get a solution that would be great.
EDIT He just joined a game in cs and it's working.
I'm trying to figure out how much data the chronotek app can access, i'm mainly trying to protect my privacy because for my job I had to install this app on my personal phone. Any help would be greatly appricated!
Why is it that WIFI signals become weak at levels below ground?
I have an idea as to why this happens but I just want to validate it by listening to what others have to say.
Hi reddit, I made a Window Tiler application that I think is very useful.
Every morning I start up my laptop and open the same applications (and sometimes have to reposition them back to my favourite screen position).
So I made an application where you click a button and it arranges your windows into your favourite layout and dimensions. You create a custom layout (up to 5) you like; for example a 'work' layout that has Microsoft Excel on half the screen and skype and thunderbird on the other side, a 'play' layout that has youtube on one screen and reddit open on another screen, etc. Each of these layouts is represented by a button. You now just click that button to arrange your windows into that layout. The application is only for Windows 8, 8.1 & 10 for now. But have plans to port it to Max OS and Linux.
