Yesterday I had a handyman in my house and wanted him to install a Ethernet port in our guest room upstairs. He said the easiest way to do that was just to install a long ethernet cable from the master bedroom ethernet port to the guest bedroom and wire it through the attic. Great. However, there is only one port in the master bedroom, and my wife and I need to be using the port in the master bedroom and the guest bedroom at the same time. The handyman said we could get a splitter for the port, and both connect into it, but after researching, there doesnt appear to be a splitter that allows both of us to use the one 'master' port simultaneously..

2006 Dell Dimension
I have a 2006 dell dimension. Pentium D 3 gb ram. Not sure of the graphics card if any? And about 120gb hard drive. I used it for a solid 4 years, then the other 10 years was super light use (web surfing YouTube Microsoft word) couple times a week. I was using my laptop more that’s why.
So if that dell lasted me about 14 years, the last few years it’s been going hella slow where I can barely check emails at a decent speed before it starts overheating and the fan starts blowing fast. I’m thinking about getting a Dell XPS i7 16gb ram gtx1660 s graphics card with 256gb ssd. How long would this new computer last me? Would it last longer than my original since this technology is a lot better and faster? And nowadays the speed upgrades are much less compared to back in the day when computers were new and speeds were Changing big time each year ? I’m just debating on if I should get a high end computer and spend a grand or go middle with an i5 and 12gb ram and intel graphics card and spend 500 bucks? And change it out every few years?

I check Reddit, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter so far. Among these Twitter and Reddit has their official APIs for queries which allows getting tweets and posts and stuff. However, I didn't see the same with LinkedIn and TikTok. It seems they don't have anything for data collection.
Also is there any other social media website that you know provides APIs for such purpose?

A few years ago, and when I say few I mean like 8 years ago; and I’m almost 24... - I had a hotmail account which was connected to my Facebook (which I still used), Twitter (that I stopped using back then) and some random things like askfm (needless to say, I stopped using after a few months of initially using). For some reason, I never went back to that hotmail, till recently I got logged out of my Facebook. I can’t seem to change my Facebook password, delete my old Twitter or any of the bizarre things I once created accounts with under this Hotmail. I can’t access this Hotmail account anymore - and believe me I have tried everything. I can figure out the Facebook issue since it is connected to my phone number (of a country I’m not currently in) so hopefully whenever I go back, I can figure it out. But how do I delete this Twitter account and other things? How do I get access to this Hotmail.. I’m applying for job interviews and I’m a writer, so I like to have my name under google search seen crisp and clear, but it’s quite problematic with all my past gems (and I mean ugly school teens with braces and no goals in life stuff). I've been having this problem on this new laptop that I got, the Wifi will just stop responding for 2 seconds and then come back. This problem only happens on my laptop and not on any other device in my house, anyone have any ideas of whats happening?

anybody get an odd noise in their headphones when it's not playing any noise? kinda sounds like a heavily breathing dog or something. And it goes over and over and then stops. it only happens when there's no sound coming from the headphones. Can anybody explain it?
My mic was working (I was talking via game), and after like 10mins after exiting game, it stopped. Compeletly for no reason. I wasn't installing any programs, any changes, I wasn't even moving.

So starting yesterday, literally every website I go to requires me to solve a captcha by cloudflare. This is happening on all the devices on my internet. I am convinced that cloudflare has falsely blacklisted me, because my internet is just a residential home internet and after running multiple virus/malware scans on my devices, everything came up negative. Also, I have programs such as League of Legends and stuff like that which use cloudflare captchas, but since I can only solve captchas on my browser, these programs will not run at all. Is there a way that I can get off this blacklist or solve this problem?

I’m looking for budget gaming laptops, and I’ve come across two in particular have caught my attention. However, I’m not too sure which one to get.
They’re both within my price range, with the ASUS being £50 more expensive. The only thing I really know is graphics cards, and the Acer has a GTX1050 and the ASUS has a GTX1650, so I think in terms of graphics the ASUS is better.

Hi, I’m hoping someone can help. I have never used the secret messenger part of Facebook messenger however when I looked about an hour ago there were multiple devices all names ‘iPhone XR’ and with dates ranging from yesterday to 5 months ago and they all had different keys when I clicked on them. I logged out of the device thought Facebook setting as I was worried I might have been hacked and someone was messaging using that function. When I logged back in there are still multiple devices with different keys but now all the dates have changed to today 13th May. I have tried deleting the devices but it won’t let me. Can anyone help? Could someone have hacked me?

Note: I've had a couple of people ask me about the 20/20 corrected or natural vision requirement so I'll go ahead and answer that question here. :) Basically, you can participate if you wear glasses or contacts, I just ask that you are wearing them during the study. If your vision doesn't correct totally to 20/20 but it's pretty close and you can still see everything pretty well, that is fine too.

This is about historical technology, so I’m not sure if it fits here.
My friend and I are creating a stage show that is made to mimic a musical variety show from the 1960’s. It’s set in 1966, which means it probably would’ve been filmed with a TK-41, unless I’ve done my homework incorrectly. I’m wondering if anyone has a visual of the color spectrum the TK-41 was capable of producing.
So far, we’ve concluded that the color palette should favor warm hues, and that most cool colors should be bright and bold (lime, cyan, magenta, etc.) I wasn’t sure where to ask about this. I considered r/filmmaking, but they seem to have an emphasis on film rather than television, and this is a technical question.
